Works for Me, well, Saturday. Why? 'Cause it's just that important.

I don't like to cook.

If you read here often, you know that pretty well.

Honestly, I don't like to cook, because, well, it scares me. I never really learned how to cook so it's all foreign to me. Like a bad Japanese movie.

Speaking of which, don't get me started on sushi.

Just don't.

Anyway - I do like to eat out.

I'm real good at navigatin' a menu.

And not havin' to cook.

Real good.

Come by, sometime. I'll prove it.

The problem is, well, eating out is ... ex. pen. sive. Especially now that we've reached the golden age between Happy Meals and Kids Eat Free night and the Senior discount.

It's called "Wehavetwiteenagers" syndrome. Insurance doesn't cover it. They really should. I mean, it's contagious. First one gets it, then the others do. One by one. It's ridiculous.

But, wait!

There's an answer to our little dilemma.

It's called Restaurant.com.

From their website:

How does it work?

It’s so easy. Just use our search to find a restaurant. Many of our participating restaurants have different offers, so pick the place that suits you best. We provide handy descriptions and even menus to help you decide. Follow the instructions for purchasing a gift certificate and print it out. In minutes you're all set for a night out for less!

It really is that easy.

It's three simple steps. Three!

First, search your area, or the area you want to eat in by city and state, or zip code.

Then, locate a restaurant that interests you (you can review their menus, and pricing structure. Even see pictures!) And these aren't just family restaurants, there are some pretty nice places that partner with this site. Nice, romanticy places even....

Last, you buy a $ 25.00 gift certificate.

For only $10.00!

Did you catch that! $25.00 buckaroos o'food for TEN dineros!!!

A savings of 15 buckaneros!

But wait! There's more!!

If you join Restaurant.com (which is FREE! FREE I TELL YOU) they will send you emails with specials! For more SAVINGS!!!

Like this one! That came today!

Right now and through this Wednesday, use the code GOURMET at checkout in the promo box and save 70%!!!!

That's a $ 25.00 gift certificate for only $3.00!

THREE! DOLLARS!!

Now. Here's the catch.

Most restaurant's have a $35.00 minimum purchase before tip. So, let's do the math ...

$35.00 minimum required before tip
-25.00 gift certificate
--------
$10.00 cash out of pocket, before tip
+  3.00 paid for said gift certificate
+  7.00 for 20% tip (always tip based on original ticket amount please)
--------
$17.00 cash paid for a $42.00 meal (meal + tip)

WOOHOO!!!!

The gift certificate's are good for a a year, so stock up! And, you can give them as gifts!

WIN! WIN ! WIN!!!!

So, give it a try.

You got nothing to lose.

or cook.

or clean up.

You're welcome.

Thank you! I just used your code and got a $25 certificate to this restaurant The Man and I have been wanting to try! I smell date night. :)

Kelli, this is brilliant! I love the math breakdown--math never was my strong suit :) I saw your comment on Pace's website--thank you for commenting; that was very sweet of you!

I'm going to have to check out this restaurant.com thing, especially since our house deal appears to be falling through, and we may be hotel-ing it for a month of so after we get home from my mom's. Long story. Blech. :)

Kelli,

You are such a clever and resourceful person with these things you find and post for us here. The recycling thing was pretty awsome too. Hope you are having a good weekend and your health is staying up. John too. Love you and pray often for you my friend.

Love and Hugs, Laurie in Ca.

Now that IS awesome! Pretty nifty!

Wow, wonder if it works in Canada?

Since ”For Kelli" was held on January 16, 2006 we have continually received requests on how people can assist with the ongoing medical expenses associated with treatment of Kelli's End Stage Renal Disease through dialysis and hopefully, transplant.

Your prayers mean more to us than anything else, but appreciate that some may want to assist in a more tangible way. If you would like to make a donation, simply click on the button above and you will be redirected to Paypal. A printable receipt will be made available.

We thank you for all the support you have given us as a family, in so many ways.
