WFMW - Savin' The Razor

Wfmw_2

Call me weak.

Call me gullible.

Just don't call me late for dinner.

Badadum.

thankyouthankyouI'llbehereallweek.

Ahem.

I've fallen for the latest advertising campaigns for the Venus Embrace razor. Love may be blind, but it ain't cheap. Holy moly.

I would almost expect the thing to hop up, lather my legs and gracefully glideitself through the jungle all on it's own, for what I paid for it.

But, alas. It's not to be.

(or is it? there are so many ways I could go with this. But, I won't).

Now, this beauty gives and incredible shave. So much so, that I would like to use it every day, but the cost of replacing the blades that often- well, it goes against my plans to do things like feed my children and keep the lights on.

But, not to despair! There is an answer to my dilemma.

Alcohol!

No, not that kind of alcohol. I mean, I'd be silly to drink and then shave right? Wouldn't that be a SUI?

(And with the size of my calves, SUI, SUI pig pig pig ... wouldn't be too far wrong).

*snort*

The thing that dulls the razor blade the fastest is moisture. So, by simply dipping the razor blade in alcohol after using it, then drying it off your blades will last a considerably long time!

And then, Venus and I will live happily, hairlessly ever after.

Hmmm. Never heard of it. I must be too old!! You're hilarious.

Okay so I am going to try this, but with a little trepidation. I have bad luck when it comes to things like this (y'know things like razors, scissors, knives). LOL

Thank you for the great tip!!

I have been using a Venus (Haven't tried the Embrace version yet) for a few years now, and this might sound gross to some, but I can usually use a blade for at least a month with no problems.

I had no idea! Bonus... you know that I'm frugal so this tip will be put into effect immediately!

I'll have to remember to use alcohol or at least dry it off real good after shaving. :) Thanks for the tip! :)

Oh, girl. I am on top of this one because I too, love the Venus.

She's got it...yeah baby, she's got it...(remember that song??)

I love the Venus Breeze! It's great not having to put on the shaving cream, but they are also very expensive blades to replace.

You are on a roll this morning! LOL.

I've wondered if these things were worth the price. I might just have to bite the bullet and get one.

Thanks for this! I do shave every day so I go through razors like there's no tomorrow. I'll be doing this for sure!

This is a great tip! I will be remembering this in the future!

I just recently discovered this razor. I love it with every fiber of my being.

I will begin pampering my razor with a little alcohol bath as well. Because I love it that much.

That's a great idea! (I posted something similar in March) ;)

If you ever run out of rubbing alcohol you could always use your blow dryer to wick away the moisture after a thorough rinsing or run it down your bath towel. (I learned that from Clark Howard!)

Your prayers mean more to us than anything else, but appreciate that some may want to assist in a more tangible way. If you would like to make a donation, simply click on the button above and you will be redirected to Paypal. A printable receipt will be made available.

We thank you for all the support you have given us as a family, in so many ways.
