Always Nice When Things Go Well!

Monthly labs looked better - yeah! Of course, considering where I was this time last month, I think anything would be better. Although I'm still climbing up out of the severaly anemic pit, everything else (besides the cough pest) is looking better.

And.

There's this thing, that could be good, that we are waiting to hear about. Hopefully, by the end of next week. I'm heck-bent of being determined all will come through, so if you guys could just be praying for GOOD! THINGS! I'd be ever so thankful!

Lastly?

Dont' forget about this!

Come on back Monday to see the various things that will be given away!

Housekeeping - Feed Readers

I've received numerous emails from you guys that for some reasons the feed readers are not updating new posts.

Frankly, I'm clueless as to why it's not working and have asked for help.

In the meantime, if you update your feeds to livingingrace.typepad.com it should work for now. At least it did on bloglines and GoggleReader.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully, it will be fixed real soon :)

The Silly Green-Eyed monster is at it again

Edited to Add: Please be praying for those affected by the California wildfires. This touches us personally, as the fires in one area burned down 6 houses in the neighborhood where I grew up and still have close friends and their families living. John's sister and her family, as well as other dear friends are in some of the other mandatory evacuated areas around the state. Thanks everyone.

I've been saying for awhile now, that I truly think I'm losing my mind. Through all of the twists and turns of the last few months, my psyche has taken a beating. My told me that is was truly just in my mind ...

But, thanks to Google I know it's not just in my head. No, sirree!

It's been documented. I have evidence. It's like Law and Order, The Transplant Edition.

Someone actually found my blawg by Google searching:

medical discharge cannot pass psyche evaluation

Yep. I've lost it.

Sigh.

On the brighter side, I think, you'll never guess what I did today. Think, think hard!!

I ...

went ....

to ...

....

the DOCTOR!!!

Ser-prize, ser-prize, ser-prize!

When I was in the hospital five or eleventy weeks ago, I came down with a cough. I know, getting sick in the hospital- what a shocker. I mean, it's a bargain all the way around. Come in with 3 things and leave with more. More bang for your buck! Yeah. I'm thrilled.

Anyway.

I have had this stupid cough for about 5 weeks now, and have run through two courses of the same antibiotic. And darned if the dumb thing won't go away.

At first, we thought it was related to the pasteurella, since it can cause respiratory infections in rabbits.  And since Mr. Infectious Disease Guy never got back to us, we are all shooting in the dark.

I've had my lungs listened to for weeks now, and they've been clear.

Until today.

Now, my left lung is "very tight" and the right is "tight".  Tight for me, optimally. would be how I would like to describe say, my stomach. A pipe dream, but still.

So, say Hello! to medicine number 4,316 now safely ensconced in my medicine bowl- Mr. Inhaler! WooHoo!!

We have all but ruled out pasteurella being the cause (no high fevers, etc), the doctor said "I think your lings are just tired. Or jealous of all the attention your kidney, bladder and pancreas have gotten in the last month". Snicker. snicker. She thinks she's so funny.

Well, on the way home my lungs and I had a long talk and I flt out told them that "I" get to get 'tired' before they do. So they just need to suck it up (in every way) and get over them little selves.

So, now we wait to see who decides to whine and cry next. If google has anything to say about it, I'm voting for my brain.

The next time you hear from me, I may be liveblogging from Oz.

Intermission

I've decided to take some time off from blogging.

It may just be the next couple of weeks; it's not clear at this point. In my efforts to cocoon within the family- and be the mom my children need right now, and the wife my husband wants right now, I'm brutally detaching myself from all outside commitments except church services.

I'm taking a step back, continuing to simplify.

I hope everyone can understand. Each of you is a treasure to me.

I called on your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: "Do not close your ears to my cry for relief."You came near when I called you, and you said, "Do not fear."

- Lamentations 3:55-57

At which I risk having none of you come back here ever, ever, ever again. Deep breath.

I'm a child of the seventies. Although mine was the first generation of Sesame Street and The Electric Company, my biggest social impacts began in the seventies.

I was in the 7th grade when Saturday Night Fever opened. I danced The Hustle at my sister's wedding, when it was THE dance.

My first two "rock star" crushes were Shaun Cassidy and Andy Gibb (he's the baby brother of the BeeGee's, for those of you young'uns out there). I still have the signed copy of Shaun Cassidy's first album my dad got me at the station. And my pink t-shirt with Andy Gibb.

My highest moment during my senior year was meeting Shaun Cassidy in person, at his home, due to a business meeting my dad attended at this house. No squealing, no screaming, but lots of staring. Oh yeah, and I got to hold his newborn daughter, too. And meet his wife. But, who cares. He was in my sights for long enough.

My biggest secret, though, was my Donny. Deep in my heart, was planted my undying, unwavering love for Donny Osmond. Religiously we watch the Donny and Marie show, even when it resorted to the ice skating phase. True love forgives much.

Well, now.

Fast forward and be still my heart.

Donny is back

And on CD.

Donny sings some of my favorite late night, backyard Friday night, lights low, arms around the neck, slow dancing swaying to the music songs of the 70's.

Be still my heart.

Get ready my CD player.

If you just can't wait to hear him pluck the strings of heart and begin love anew, just click here.

Samples! It's like free Ghiradelli, but better.

Now, pardon me while I go lay on my rainbow bedspread, in my bell bottoms and groove to some tunes.

I haven't been able to get my thoughts together yet about the last two weeks or so. There was so much great stuff that we did, but I'm just under the pile right now. I've got some new referrals to a couple of specialists that I need to see, and a doing some research into the things we talked about before vacation break.

I did meet a new GP today that both John and I loved. YEAH! Good news, good news. She's very willing to work with my team, and was very honest about the type of care I may or may not get from certain Dr.'s in the area here. She didn't hesitate telling me some things may require driving out of the area. I appreciated that more than anything.

So, I'll just have to say Thank You for all the emails,and comments, and beg your indulgence a wee bit longer. My mind just needs to rest, and wrap around only a few things right now.

I'm determined not to get overwhelmed or stressed.

Hard for a Type A like me to do, but I'm on a mission.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quick prayer requests:
  • I need to sleep, and rest when I do.
  • I'm back on antibiotics for some things that have creeped up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks everyone. Hope to be back really, really soon.

October 06, 2007

Hey peeps!

Well, the house is still again. It's kindof weird for it to be so quiet after this past week.

Needless to say, we ate too much, laughed too much, are all carrying bruises and numbness from too many rounds of Slap, have little voice left after screaming through many games of Jenga. We learned how to barbecue really good chicken (thanks Aunt Sandy),  gleaned some yummy new recipes like Peach Salad and Yummy Cheesy Potatoes.

I'm going to be taking a few days to catch up on sleep, cause I am totally beat. But, it was the best use of energy I can think of.  I have so much to share, including recipes, and then it's off to life again.

I can't wait to catch up with everyone (I'm seriously surprised my Bloglines didn't just explode), cause well, I've missed you guys!

Since ”For Kelli" was held on January 16, 2006 we have continually received requests on how people can assist with the ongoing medical expenses associated with treatment of Kelli's End Stage Renal Disease through dialysis and hopefully, transplant.

Your prayers mean more to us than anything else, but appreciate that some may want to assist in a more tangible way. If you would like to make a donation, simply click on the button above and you will be redirected to Paypal. A printable receipt will be made available.

We thank you for all the support you have given us as a family, in so many ways.
